Asthi Visarjan is a Hindu ritual of immersing the mortal remains (ashes) of a deceased person in a sacred body of water such as a river or sea. The word "Asthi" means bones or ashes, while "Visarjan" means immersion. There are two important location near delhi-NCR for Asthivisarjan, Yamuna Ghat, Majnu Ka Tilla, Nigam Bodh Ghat (The crematorium site sanctified by Lord Brahama) and Garh Mukteshwar (Garh Ganga) about 95 KMs from New Delhi.
