According to the Hindu epic Mahabharata, King Yudhishthira was advised by Lord Krishna to perform Pind Daan in Gaya to seek forgiveness for the sins committed by his ancestors. It is believed that performing Pind Daan in Gaya has the power to cleanse the souls of the ancestors and help them attain salvation.
Another story associated with Pind Daan is that of the demon Vritra, who was defeated by Lord Indra. It is believed that Vritra's soul was restless and could not attain peace until Lord Indra performed Pind Daan for him.

It will take around 2 hour to perform Pind daan in Gaya. You will have to come to Vishnupad Temple where our pandit ji will receive you. You need to carry one white dhoti with you, which you will wear during the puja. In this package, after pind daan you need to go to three places -Vishnupad temple, Akshayvat Tree and Falguni river for putting the pinds(rice balls)
